Remote Work is here to stay. While we’ll probably end up with a more Hybrid approach as things equalize, the companies that are going to get through this recession aren’t the ones who are demanding you come back into the office full-time.
The good ole’ days of everyone meeting around the water cooler are gone. Those companies that demand you go back to the way things were and act like the Pandemic didn’t happen are on the FastTrack towards irrelevance. We know better now, they gave us a taste of the good life, and we’d rather quit than go back to that life as a wage slave, paying $18 for a Salad and spending way too much on gas commuting to that prison they call a cubicle. Maybe if wages increased enough to battle inflation, people might feel better about return to office mandates, but everything is just getting more expensive, and more and more benefits seem to be just, well, disappearing.
