Work for 3 Hours then Go do Something Else
Engineer’s Enigma #3
I’ve been having a pretty great schedule over the last year. It looks like this:
Wake up at 8:30am
Get the Kids to School by 9:00am
Work from 9am-12pm
Walk and Lunch with my Wife
Engage in Curiosity from 1pm-4pm
Kids Home by 4pm, Help with Dinner and After School Activities
It’s a pretty easy flow type of system.
It’s a lot better than my previous schedule when I didn’t run my own business:
Wake up 7:30am
Drive 45 Minutes to Work (Light Morning Traffic)
Arrive at Work 9:00am
Eat Out Everyday for Lunch, Mostly Alone
Work, So Many Meetings!
Hour and Half Commute Home with Traffic
Get Home, always eat take out because Mom is frazzled being with toddlers all day
It’s a night and day difference how much better my mental health became. It’s far from perfect of course (with kids, nothing ever is) but having my butt in a seat for a Company that valued me as a number more than a individual, well, its a lot better feeling being able to be there…
